Just announced this week by General Motors, regarding the warranty for Corvette and other models.

"GM remains committed to our 3 Year/36,000 or 4 Year/50,000* mile new vehicle Bumper to Bumper limited warranty, as well as our industry exclusive 5 year/100,000** mile, fully transferable powertrain limited warranty, with no fees or deductibles. 

"Now, as announced on March 30, 2009, the U.S. Treasury Department is providing an important back-stop to our coverage.  Specifically, the U.S. Treasury Department has introduced an innovative new program to give consumers who are considering purchasing a new GM vehicle the confidence their warranty will be protected.  As announced by President Obama on March 30, the Administration is confident that GM will emerge as a stronger, more competitive company, and is committed to working with us to make this happen.  This important announcement means your warranty is safe – PERIOD.
 

"What does the program mean for consumers?

• If you buy or lease a new GM vehicle during our restructuring period you will be eligible for the warranty protection.

• You do not have to do anything to participate in the government’s warranty back-stop program. It is automatic.

• The U.S. Treasury will work with GM to implement its program to safeguard your warranty.

*Buick, Cadillac, Hummer, Saab

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama asserted unprecedented government control over the auto industry yesterday, rejecting turnaround plans by General Motors Corp.

Slow Corvette sales have shut down the General Motors Corp. plant in Bowling Green this week and next, as well as the first two weeks of May, June and July, United Auto Workers Local 2164 Financial Secretary Cindy Shelton said today.

With a new month brings new incentives and rebates from GM.  Here is the latest breakdown on the discounts you can receive on new Corvettes, with approved credit:

2008 Corvettes:  CorvetteBlog is offering GM Employee Pricing to everyone on our 2 remaining 2008 Corvettes while GM is offering a couple of different options as well:

• Option 1:  Take 0% financing for up to 60 months or 2.9% financing for up to 72 months
• Option 2:  Take $4,000 off in rebate money
• Option 3:  Take $2,000 off in rebate money and get 5.9% for up to 60 months

2009 Corvettes:  CorvetteBlog is offering GM Supplier Pricing or less to everyone on all of our 2009 Corvettes while GM is offering these options as well:

• Option 1:  Take $1,000 in rebate money
• Option 2:  Take 4.9% financing for up to 60 months
• Option 3:  Take $500 in rebate money if you have a lease vehicle (any make or model) in your household expiring before 10/31/2009.  This option can be combined with either option 1 or 2.

• 2009 Corvette Z06:  There are the same 2 constraints to report.  First 425 Linen Custom Leather Interior is discontinued, so that constraint will exist until build-out as well.  Second, 74U Victory Red is now built out, so no additional Corvette orders will be taken with that exterior color.

• 2009 Corvette ZR1:  The only 2 constraints are the 425 Linen Custom Leather interior and 74U the Victory Red exterior, which are both no longer available for ordering.
