Purple People Eater Corvette Racer Heading to Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale Auction

One of the most famous Corvette race cars in history will go on the auction block at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2016 set for Jan. 23-31. The Purple People Eater Corvette – which was driven by Florida-based driver Jim Jeffords, who singlehandledly ended the West Coast’s domination of Corvette racing late in the 1950s – was discovered by legendary Corvette enthusiast Chip Miller, founder of what is now Carlisle Events, and Ken Heckert, a restoration shop owner,

[ACCIDENT] Two Corvettes Damaged after Car Crashes Into Dealership

A car crash early Monday morning resulted in damage to two Corvette Stingrays parked outside a car dealership in Nashville. Police say a driver in his 40s was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries but they do not suspect drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. The accident occurred around 1:30 am on Gallatin Pike North. One of the Corvettes, a Silver Stingray Convertible was pushed into the dealer’s showroom, taking

Found, fixed after 33 years

The Woodward Dream Cruise, an annual automotive festival in Metro Detroit that draws about a million spectators and tens of thousands of hot rods, muscle cars and classics, is a consistent source of feel-good stories. Perhaps the best from this year, the event’s 21st edition, was that of George Talley and his silver Corvette.

Hemmings Find of the Day – 1968 Chevrolet Corvette

What started out as a fairly run-of-the-mill small-block Corvette convertible, this built-for-racing 1968 Chevrolet Corvette for sale on Hemmings.com, could ultimately return to its original configuration, thanks to the fact that the seller didn’t seem to toss anything out when converting it for racing. Then again, it appears just as capable on the track as it does on the road, so perhaps a few more seasons of racing are in the tank for this Corvette? From the seller’s description: Meticulously owned and cared for, it comes with more extra parts and documentation that we can list here.

The Corvette American Flag Flies Again at Corvettes at Carlisle

Today at Corvettes at Carlisle, the giant hill that usually is home to Corvette club parking was instead awash in a sea of Red, White and Blue Corvettes as Corvettes at Carlisle replicated one of their most well known displays – the Corvette American Flag. A total of 156 Corvettes were used to make the American Flag. Seven rows of red Corvettes alternated with six rows of white Corvettes while 35 Corvettes made up the

Racing Fans Create Petition over IMSA’s Balance of Performance

Racing Fans Create Petition over IMSA's Balance of Performance

We don’t know how much a petition will help solve the inequities of IMSA’s balance of performance adjustments that seem to have knocked Chevrolet and Corvette Racing out of the top spot in the Manufacturers and Driver’s championships for the second year in a row, but at this point we are willing to try anything to get the attention of IMSA’s top brass. I don’t really like crying about the BoP standards but for the

[VIDEO] Rich Kid Gives Away a Free C7 Corvette Stingray to a Complete Stranger

Rich Kid Gives Away a Free C7 Corvette Stingray to a Complete Stranger

Did we just witness a true act of generosity or just another staged video for the Internet? That’s what we were wondering after watching this video that shows a rich kid apparently pull up to a random stranger and hand the man the keys to his Arctic White Corvette Stingray. Hopefully for the recipient, this was for real. After all, who among us wouldn’t love to have a C7 Corvette given to us, without having
