We’ve been enjoying the Daily Downshift channel featuring the Kuchar brothers out of Canada who own a 1LT Sebring Orange 2020 Corvette Coupe. As the car has now passed the break-in period of 500 miles or 800 kilometers, it’s time to test launch control.
The weather must be getting better up there as Orest and Nestor made a quick dash from the Great White North to “Mexico” to get in some driving action.

This is one of the coolest C5s I’ve ever seen, although you’d have to be a car enthusiast to even realize it IS a Corvette at first.
After having covered 118,000 miles over the past two decades, this fixed-roof coupe has been transformed into an off-road buggy.

IMSA president John Doonan held a conference call on Wednesday and according to Racer.com he said: “We are still focused on going racing at Watkins Glen at the end of June.” That race is Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen scheduled for June 25-28th.
The new IMSA president also addressed several other issues noting that the event schedule for 2020 was likely to be shortened as a cost-saving measure for teams.

With the latest news from the UAW and the State of Kentucky regarding the coronavirus shutdown, it looks like we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And for Corvette fans, that means the resumption of the 2020 Corvette production could be here as early as May 18th.
Could the much-ballyhooed right-hand drive mid-engine Corvette be a victim of COVID-19, too?
That’s the speculation this week from an Aussie website called CarAdvice, which is reporting that General Motors is reconsidering the viability of the RHD Stingray.
In fact, CarAdvice says a leaked internal document from Michelle Braun, GM’s executive director in charge of program management, indicates a temporary stop on all future car and truck development, including the Corvette.

Although I don’t count myself a huge fan of drift racing, I am a fan of the 6th generation Corvette and therefore I want to see it win in whatever competition its owner has it entered in. In this case, a Yellow C6 Corvette is taking on the world during a drifting event at the Marzaglia racetrack near Modena, Italy.
We told you a couple weeks back about retired NFL quarterback Eli Manning offering up the 2011 Corvette Grand Sport for the ALL IN Challenge, a fundraiser for Coronavirus relief efforts which consisting of unique prizes and experiences offered up by celebs, musicians, and professional athletes.
Manning was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Super Bowl XLVI after defeating the New England Patriots 21-17 in February 2012 and he was awarded the C6 Corvette from Chevrolet.
You don’t always have to have the latest 2020 model to turn heads in a Corvette.
This 1976 restomod up for sale on craigslist in the Atlanta, Georgia area is proof of that.
We love the dark gray paint, with the silver strip circling the rear end and matching stripes on the lower sides of the car.

With the abbreviated arrival of the 2020 Corvette, we’ve been turning to Instagram on Wednesdays in search of sharing some great photos of custom wheels on the new C8.
GM’s choice of wheels for the C8 is limited to the two designs available in various finishes and we are okay with those choices from the factory, but the custom wheel aftermarket opens up so many great possibilities for owners to personalize their new sports cars to their tastes.
