Weekly Corvette Ordering Constraints Announced

Once again, corvetteblog.com regularly offers you a comprehensive list of current constrained items when ordering 2013 Corvettes.

Corvettes ordered this week have a Target Production Week of Jan. 28, 2013.

Colors Inferno Orange and Super Sonic Blue are builtout for the year. There will be no further vehicles produced with those colors. We may be able to find you a car in these colors through a search of dealers’ lots, however.

Additionally, the option to build a 427 Convertible is constrained to just 50 percent of available orders nationwide due to a material restriction.

If you’re looking to custom-order a Corvette, look no further than right here. Also, if you are interested in a Callaway Corvette of any variety, contact us. We are uniquely positioned, with allocation, to provide you extremely aggressive quotes on purchasing or leasing the Corvette of your dreams. Please leave a comment below (which will be kept private) or give us a call at (313) 531-7100 to learn more.

We also offer nationwide shipping and delivery.

[PICS] The Corvette Racers of the 2012 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals

Last week we showed you some of the fine Corvettes in attendance at the 2012 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN). In addition to those exceptional rides, a strong contingent of Corvette racers was also present at the show. The racecars were gathered into 2 separate groups in Chicago, but we’ve combined them into one stupendous gallery just beyond that Read More button below.

The first of the 2 groups consisted of Yenko-related Corvettes and were included in a special display with about 60 other Yenko supercars. The Corvettes present had either been driven by Don Yenko himself or had been delivered at his famous Chevrolet dealership. It was hard to pick a favorite in this crowd (even with 2 Sunray DX L88’s), but it’s pretty tough to beat a Daytona Yellow 1969 coupe with a Yenko badge mounted next to the menacing 4-2-7 on the high rise hood.

The 2nd group was partially comprised of several cars owned-by or created-by Corvette restoration guru Kevin Mackay including the C2 and C3 see-thru cars as well as the renowned Penske L88 racer (a CorvetteBlogger fave). Note that the earliest known Mark 4 427 engine sits inside that transparent C2. ProTeam Corvette displayed their recently completed Dick Lang 1963 Z06 as well as a 1953 Chevrolet Engineering car. The National Corvette Museum’s bright yellow Bethke racer completed the roster of cars in this section.

As you know we’re pretty big fan boys of Corvette racecars here. Enjoy our gallery some of the best competition Corvettes below.

Petersen Automotive Museum to Celebrate Corvette's 60th Anniversary

Corvettes continue to be honored as America’s Sports Car celebrates its 60th anniversary with the 2013 model, with an exciting seventh generation just around the corner, too.

Petersen Automotive Museum is joining right in, with big plans to recognize the Corvette next year, too.

First of all, 20 historic Corvettes and Corvette concept cars will be on display at the Petersen museum from Feb. 27 through March 31, 2013.
But that’s not all.

On Friday, March 1, several special events are planned. A Corvette Values Seminar is set from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon when you can find out what your pride and joy is worth and what it may be worth in the coming years. Cost is $25.

From 2 to 3:30 p.m., several key figures from Corvette racing history will discuss the car’s proud racing heritage.

And beginning at 6 p.m., 350 lucky folks will mingle with some of the biggest names in Corvette history for cocktails, dinner, memorabilia auction, and a panel discussion. Tickets are $125 each, and a sell-out is expected.

The excitement continues on Saturday ,March 2 when 500 Corvettes will fill the Petersen Parking Structure from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Register early to guarantee yourself a spot. Spectator admission to Corvette Day is included with Petersen Automotive Museum admission.

Also that day from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, a Corvette Restoration Seminar will be held where you can learn restoration tips and techniques from the pros for the ticket price of $25.

All Corvette Day proceeds benefit the educational programming at the Petersen Automotive Museum Foundation. Visit www.corvetteday.org for more information. Sponsors of the event include Mid America Motorworks, Hagerty Classic Car Insurance, Fender, Corvette Mike and Intercity auto shippers.

[PIC] Chevrolet Teases the 2014 C7 Corvette (again!)

We missed this from a couple of days ago, but Chevy posted this new teaser picture in advance of this week’s planned video release on www.one13thirteen.com. The new teaser C7 pic was posted on Corvette’s Facebook page with a caption that reads:

A road is all you need.

Click here for a larger view.

The 2nd teaser video was posted earlier today as well. Called Calibration, it offers the first glimpse of the new Corvette’s digital dash display.

German Tuner GeigerCars’ 730hp Corvette ZR1

German Tuner GeigerCars' 730hp Corvette ZR1

German tuners GeigerCars has made a reputation building some outrageous special editions from American cars, including Corvettes, Camaros and Chargers.

But quality work doesn’t come with a cheap price tag.

This special Corvette ZR1 pumps out 730-hp, but GeigerCars says it is completely streetworthy.

They upped the horsepower by nearly 100 over the standard 638-hp offered in the ZR1 by using a new set of pistons and camshafts and a revised cylinder head.

They’ve also modified the intercoolers, air intake, and exhaust to make one bad ZR1. The suspension has also been adjusted to take full advantage of the increased power.

GeigerCars also managed to wring out 700 lb.-ft. of torque.

Inside, the Recaro seats add a touch of luxury while you’re buzzing down the road at the top speed of 220.6 miles per hour, not that we’d be too worried about the interior when we’re going that fast!

But you better be prepared to dig pretty deep into your pocketbook to pay for this beauty. It’s listed at $303,717, but hey, it’s only money, right?
