[PICS] Corvettes Among Those Damaged at Russo and Steele Auction

Corvettes Among Those Damaged at Russo & Steele Auction

That line of thunderstorms that rolled through Scottsdale last week did a huge amount of damage to the classic and rare cars that were to be sold at the Russo and Steele auction. Wind gusts of over 50 mph destroyed two of the tents that housed the cars, but luckily no people were seriously injured. After the fire department cleared the area, consignors were let back inside to view the aftermath and for many of these Corvette owners, it sure wasn’t pretty. [More]

A Four-Door Corvette?

Some argue that if you increase the amount of doors on the Corvette from 2 to 4, you lose the Corvette’s sports ride identity. Let me try to help you understand the evolution of the four-door Corvette idea…

With the arrival of the four-door Caprice Police Patrol vehicle to North America in 2011, what will come next?

Well, GM’s Vice Chairman Bob Lutz has been busy with this very question. He has, however, had his eyes on Australia’s Holden Commodore. The perfect successor to the Caprice just may be the Commodore Police Cruiser. This is great for the police force, but what about the everyday driver?

Enter the potential idea of a four-door Corvette! Therefore, the four-door Corvette model stemmed from the Australian Holden Commodore.

What do you think about the potential for a four-door ‘Vette? Is GM wasting their time, or possibly onto something? Tell us your thoughts.

[PICS] Highlights from the NCRS Winter Regional in Kissimmee

Highlights from the NCRS Winter Regional in Kissimmee

This weekend was the 32 annual NCRS Winter Regional held at Old Town in Kissimmee, Florida. After a drenching rain Thursday evening that flooded much of the swap meet and vendor field, the sky turned blue on Friday and temperatures hovered in the mid-seventies for the rest of the weekend. As we always like to do, we have a bevy of Corvette pictures to share. If i’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. If you own a Corvette, you need to get to one of these larger shows. Hundreds of Corvettes to see, plus the vendors and used parts sellers will ensure you won’t go home empty handed. [More]

It’s All About the Corvette

That’s right. This year’s 39th Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction is ALL about the Corvette!!

A grand total of 125 Corvettes will be offered from the auction block this year! The ‘Vettes will range in a wide variety of color and even model year, from the current 2010 ZR1 to a late 1954 classic. In fact, Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson, admits, “This is the best offering of Corvettes we’ve ever had at Barrett-Jackson.”

In addition to numerous top-tier Corvettes being auctioned off, this past Thursday included the 3rd annual Corvette Market magazine seminar. The seminar was a great success and included two segments: “Restoration vs. Preservation” and a guest panel’s picks to “Buy, Sell and Hold”.

If you’d like to find out more about this year’s Barrett-Jackson, visit barrett-jackson.com or call (480) 421-6694. Or just tune in to watch it live from the SPEED Channel.
