We spoke with Corvette Racing’s Program Manager Doug Fehan on the Friday before the 12 Hours of Sebring. We asked Doug about technology transfers between racing and production, last season’s climatic ending at Laguna Seca as well as what’s new for the team for 2010.

[VIDEO] The 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition Public Reveal

Members of GM’s Corvette team were at the 12 Hours of Sebring on Friday, March 19, 2010 to unveil the new 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition. This new Corvette for 2011 features the Z07 package which includes the Corvette ZR1’s Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, front splitter, 19/20″ black wheels with Michelin PS2s, rear ZR1-style spoiler plus a custom suede interior.

We also learned some other new features for the 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon not covered in the press release: A new tuned exhaust system, custom VIN and the ability to choose between different steering settings.

Oliver Gavin to Race Corvette C6.R in FIA GT1 World Championship

Oliver Gavin, a racing British driver and four-time American Le Mans Series class champion, will be apart of the driver lineup for the world championship of car racing, set to begin soon. Gavin will drive a Corvette C6.R for Mad Croc Racing on eight of the 10 scheduled races in the FIA GT1 World Championship.

The FIA GT1 World Championship will hold 10 events in 10 countries on four continents. A maximum of six car manufacturers have entered the series, which include Aston Martin, Corvette, Ford, Lamborghini, Maserati and Nissan.

Gavin will be teamed together with Finland’s Pertti Kuismanen. Mika Salo will stand in for Gavin on a couple races due to Gavin’s prior ALMS Corvette racing commitments.

"I’m looking forward and am intrigued to see how it will evolve, and it’ll be good to be racing against the likes of top-line drivers such as Darren [Turner] and Tomas [Enge], reprising our ALMS battles from a few years ago,” said Gavin.
