Gary Zawacki could hardly believe his luck. Had he actually uncovered a real, one-owner '66 big-block Corvette with less than 13,000 miles? The classic appeared complete and original down to the Rally Red paint, parked without a car cover in a detached garage in a neighborhood in the small hamlet of Niles, Ohio.
We first saw talk of carbon fiber wheels in super-limited form from Koenigsegg, which developed a set of carbon shoes for its 1,341-hp One:1 hypercar . The One:1 saw just seven units of production, so the 13-pound wheels on that rarified missile appeared to be special one-offs.

Bridgestone Americas is replacing its Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 and Wide Oval AS lines with the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 ultra-high-performance and Firehawk AS all-season high-performance lines. Bridgestone describes the new Firehawk designs as “consumer tire extensions” of the Firehawk race tires used in the Verizon IndyCar Series.

What is it about muffler shops and modified motoring that go so hand-in-hand? Now, I've never lived much outside of Southern California, so I've no clue how widespread the phenomenon really is. Around these parts, however, muffler shops-especially those that are independently owned and operated-have long enjoyed a tight connection with their area's car crowd.
