Spring Mountain Motor Resort and the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School just held the first two-day class for new owners of the 2020 Corvette Stingray. The school officially kicked off its consumer classes for the 8th generation Corvette on June 1st with 11 students welcomed to the school in Pahrump, NV.
During the two-day experience, the owners learned the in’s and out’s of driving their “mid-engine masterpieces” as they are referred to by the staff at Spring Mountain.

Hennessey Performance has recently shared several videos of an Arctic White 2020 Corvette that was shown first in stock form, and then after it received some work from the Texas tuning shop that included a NOS system and the addition of their new custom stainless steel exhaust system. As part of their validation testing, the Hennessey team with Corvette Hall of Famer John Heinricy behind the wheel were able to reach a world record top speed of 205.1 mph.
It’s official – a right-hand-drive version of the new mid-engine Corvette will be available in Europe starting in the second half of 2021.
But our friends overseas won’t be able to get the base version of the Corvette, which is being offered for the first time in RHD from the factory.

The front end of this late-fourth generation white Corvette suffered extensive damage in a Saturday afternoon crash in Ocean City, New Jersey.
Reports on ocnjdaily.com don’t really say if another vehicle was involved in the accident, but if we had to guess, we’d say the driver might have just lost control and smashed into one of the traffic signal poles at the intersection of Ninth Street and Bay Avenue, at the foot of the Route 52 Causeway bridge into Ocean City.

Last night we shared the Hennessey video featuring a C7 Corvette Stingray vs a C8 Corvette from both a roll and a dig. I was surprised by some of the mail I received saying it wasn’t a fair fight. Hardly any of these “comparison” videos are. My thoughts were, “did you see how well the C7 Corvette did?”
So let me spring this next “unfair” comparison video from YouTuber Speed Phenom as he races his stock 495-hp C8 Corvette against a straight-piped 755+ hp C7 2019 Corvette ZR1.

General Motors will be keeping most plants open during their traditional summer shutdowns as a way to make up for the loss of production during the two-month COVID-19 pandemic. The report comes from ReliablePlant which said that nine of 11 GM assembly plants will continue operating during the traditional shutdown period from June 28th to July 9th, a decision that will generate up to 56,000 additional vehicles.

Prior to the arrival of the mid-engine Corvette Stingray, previous owners had to rely on huge horsepower aka the 2019 ZR1 or the C7 Z06 to claim it’s a 10-second car. According to this video from Andrew at Complete Street Performance, now all you need is a C8 Corvette Stingray Z51 Coupe and a set of drag radials.
