The Dodge Challenger, the Chrysler Group’s retro-styled muscle car, is the car best loved by its owners, according to Consumer Reports’ survey of 380,000 readers of its magazine and Web site.

Mecum’s Kansas City auction was held Friday and Saturday at the Kansas City Convention Center and the results were very favorable. Chevrolet’s Corvette has once again made the Consumer Report’s Owner Satisfaction survey. Although specifics weren’t discussed, Corvette ranked third overall behind the Dodge Challenger and the Ford Fusion Hybrid. Rounding out the top 6 was the Porsche 911, Toyota Prius and the all-wheel drive Acura TL. [More]

Chance Mayfield walked out of the Broadway Barn honky-tonk in Nashville on a night in November 1970 and found that his Nassau Blue 1965 Corvette Convertible had been stolen. The Corvette was worth about $2,200 at the time of the theft. With no insurance, Mayfield thought the Corvette was gone forever. Fast forward to this summer when a Detective from the Scottsdale Arizona police department called Mayfield to tell him they located the classic sting ray after a routine inspection revealed the stolen car. Hosted every year by Car and Driver, this competition illuminates the ten best vehicles for the coming year.  One would expect that the major addition to the Corvette lineup, the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport would be included on just such a list.

You’d think… but you’d be wrong.  Take a look at the list and tell me how the Grand Sport doesn’t appear in the top 10 and the Mazda Miata does.  The Miata?
