1984 was the Corvette that brought America’s Sports Car into the modern age and it wasn’t just praised by the automotive press, it was also a massive sales success.

This week has been full of unsurprising news; Frozen II continues to dominate at the box office, putting Disney over $10 Billion in ticket sales for 2019 (a new record for any studio in a calendar year), the New England Patriots got caught cheating, yet again, and today, Edmunds named the all-new C8 Corvette the best Sports Car of 2020.

A Phoenix man says his 2017 Arctic White Corvette coupe stinks.
Literally!
Troy Tangeman was driving home after a late night of working on Friday when he noticed what he thought was dirt on the road at Seventh and Southern avenues in Phoenix.
Only it wasn’t dirt.
It turned out to be used cooking grease that covered about a quarter of a mile of the road some 3 inches deep.
We’ve heard for months now that the C8 Corvette is going to be hard to find for 2020.
Now, GM North America President Barry Engle has confirmed to MotorTrend that all 40,000 of the C8s that Chevrolet plans to build for 2020 are already accounted for. That probably means that dealer allocations have been filled for the slots for both the coupe and convertible versions.

Many of our most recent entrants on this countdown have been significant because they were the last Corvette with something special. With our second place ‘Vette of the ’80s though, America’s Sports Car continued its crawl out of the malaise era and was now gaining back options, performance, quality, and the respect that it deserved.
Take a look at this photo of a 1966 Milano Maroon Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray coupe. Notice the Rapid Blue 2020 Corvette Stingray coupe in the background in the garage.
That should give you a clue that these are not two ordinary Corvettes since the C8 isn’t even available yet to ordinary drivers.

We’ve been hearing rumors for some time now about Chevrolet offering a hybrid C8 Corvette ZORA/ZR1 model that will combine the mid-engine V8 with a front-mounted electric motor system which will provide upwards of a combined 900 horsepower, as well as finally adding AWD capabilities to the Corvette for the first time.
