With the C8 Corvette on the way, the 2019 Corvette ZR1 has sort of slipped from our collective consciousness, yet every once in a while a video comes along that snaps our focus back to the most powerful Corvette ever made.
It took the tuners over a year to unlock the secrets of the ZR1’s ECU, but thanks to HP Tuners and shops like Houston’s Late Model Racecraft, the true potential of the supercharged LT5 V8 has finally been unleashed.

Rumors are rampant about a high-performance version of the new mid-engine Corvette being named Zora in honor of the car’s original chief engineer, Zora Arkus-Duntov.
But if this rumor does eventually materialize in the coming years, it won’t be the first time the legendary engineer has been honored with a namesake.

Randy Pobst’s test of the Eighth Generation Corvette at Virginia International Raceway is the gift that keeps giving this December! The original article was released last week and the C8 showed some real promise. When compared to a C7 Grand Sport, which Randy anointed the “best-handling of all C7 variations,” the new mid-engine Stingray was shaving 2-3 seconds (an eternity on a track) off of the C7 GS’ lap times.
Even though these models are no longer offered for sale in Europe, readers of the German automotive magazine Sport Auto are still showing the love for the C7 Corvette Z06!
For the 27th year in a row, Sport Auto turns over voting to its readers in 18 different production car categories and 10 tuning categories to come up with the fan favorites of the year, and the Corvette Z06 came out on top in each of its respective categories.

I’m a sucker for a pretty car on a turntable and this 2020 Corvette Stingray in Ceramic Matrix Gray just does it for me. We actually featured a similar video of the same car with the Chevrolet presenter walking us through the highlights of the car.
And here it is again in its natural environment.
If everything has gone to plan since the last C7 Corvette rolled off the Bowling Green Assembly Line in mid-November, this next week will begin a new chapter as the mid-engine Corvette inches closer to full-scale production. That’s because the retooling of the plant should now be complete and this week begins the ramped-up production of 350 captured test fleet cars.

I’ve always been fascinated with automotive design, the designers, and hearing backstories on how a particular feature came to be. The vision and artistry that automotive designers possess is something totally foreign to me. If I designed a car, it’d most likely end up looking like Sponge Bob Square Pants with tires instead of legs.

Each year the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) salutes a special group of Corvettes in their Corvette Legends Invitational display. Past themes have included racecars and L88’s among other significant Corvettes. For 2019 they welcomed new class sponsors Corvette Mike and Corvette Mike Midwest.
This year’s theme was the Class of 1969, paying tribute to the best of the best Corvettes from that year.
