Trim Details on 2012 Corvette Centennial Edition

While all 2012 Corvettes will certainly not be Centennial Edition models, features from this special model grabbed the attention of the hundreds gathered at the National Corvette Museum to see what Chevy has new for the coming model year.

The Corvette logo itself, which for one year will incorporate the number 100, is shown at the right.  This logo will be seen on all 2012 Corvettes, and is not specific to the Centennial Edition.

Three features unique to the 2012 Corvette Centennial Edition are seen below: the Suede Gearshift Boot, the Red Stitching, and the Centennial Rims.

First Three 2012 Corvettes Seen at National Corvette Museum

The first three 2012 Corvettes revealed at the museum on Friday had much in common.  Each was in the new color, Carbon Flash Metallic.  Each had the special Centennial Edition features, including Steering Wheel Hub Logo, Centennial Rims with Wheel Hub Logo, Suede Gearshift Boot, and Red Contrast Color Stitching.

Long after the reveal, the cars continued to be surrounded with adoring fans.

The Z06 and Grand Sport convertible appear after the jump.

2012 Corvette Revealed at National Corvette Museum

The 2012 Corvette was revealed at the National Corvette Museum this past Friday.  Hundreds of Corvette enthusiasts mobbed the three cars, great with anticipation to see them for the first time.

There was one each of the 2012 Grand Sport, Z06, and ZR1, and all were in the new (one year only) Carbon Flash Metallic.  The traditional – and popular – color, Black, will return for 2013.  We were told that telling the difference between the two Black colors is extremely difficult indoors.  The contrast, though, is seen outdoors in the sunlight!  In my opinion, Carbon Flash is slightly lighter and more lustrous than Black.

The presenters from General Motors were Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter, Product Manager Harlan Charles, Exterior Lead Designer Kirk Bennion, and Interior Lead Designer Chris Sass.

More photos of the reveal follow below.
