Targeting a Younger Buyer for Corvette

The website, GM Authority, recently posted additional speculation on the C7 Corvette.  Writer Manoli Katakis made the following remarks less than a week ago:

The C7 Project is known internally as Y1XX.

Expect the primary powerplant to be a 5.5L small block V8.  Currently Corvette Racing is using a 5.5L (aka LS5.5R) that produces 485 horses (55 more than the current entry level block).

The automatic transmission will have eight speeds.

The navigation and instrument panel will be way ahead of today’s.

Ferrari-style quarter windows and angled tail lamps will "knock the current Vette out of the water.  It won’t be an old guy’s car anymore."

We will see what the "old guys" think in just two more years, maybe just a little less.
