After much deliberation and a photo finish, our second place 1970s Corvette award goes to, the 1970 model!
Stop us if this sounds familiar. In 1969, a two-month United Auto Worker Strike caused a late start to production for the 1970 Corvette. Not a single 1970 Corvette laid a tire on a showroom floor until February of ’70.

Back before the reveal of the 2020 Corvette Stingray, we remember hearing that a couple of the magazines got a ride-along presentation in the prototypes as background to the information that would come out on the car after it was revealed. I had never seen this ride-along video from MotorTrend with Frank Markus and Tadge Juecther, so thanks to Corvette_Nut and the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com for reposting it.
[SPIED] Rapid Blue 2020 Corvette Coupe in Naples, FL
A fellow Corvette driver came across a Rapid Blue 2020 Corvette Stingray Coupe driving down the highway in Southwest Florida and captured a bit of the drive-by. Check out those Bright Trident Wheels as they sparkle and spin. Chevy says no chrome wheelies (at the moment) but those Tridents are quite shiny in the sun.

As the FIA motorsport sanctioning body held their end of the year awards ceremony, they are also sharing some of the best track action videos from the various series ranging from Formula One to Karting. Corvette Racing’s Oliver Gavin was nominated by the FIA for their “Action of the Year Award” in the World Endurance Championship GT at Le Mans.
Randy Pobst Drives the C7 and C8 Corvettes at VIR for MotorTrend
If you’re a fanboy of the Corvette, don’t get too upset with this video just posted by MotorTrend comparing the previous generation with the new mid-engine version on the race track.

Hennessey Performance Offers First Look at Packages to Tune the C8 Corvette Up to 1200 HP

Texas tuning shop Hennessey Performance has shared some initial information and photos today as they begin to detail their plans to tune the 2020 Corvettes with the top package offering a whopping 1200 HP.
The HPE1200 package will feature a specially-built twin-turbo LT2 V8 with upgraded internals including forged aluminum pistons and forged steel connector rods.

Earlier this morning, the GM World Class Technician for Key Chevrolet in Middletown, CT offered up a video on his TheCorvetteMechanic facebook page showing the dealership’s new special service tools for the C8 Corvette.
Paul opens them up and gives them a visual inspection, and then goes down the list showing the diagrams what they are used for.
