Sporting masks, face shields, and other PPE the Mecum team offered nearly 1,800 vehicles across 9 days. When the dust settled and the red carpet had been rolled up, Mecum tallied a 78% vehicle sell-through rate and a record $74 million in total sales.

With the 2020 Corvette making the switch to a mid-engine layout, automotive artist Abimelec Design (@abimelecdesign) decided to go retro and do a rendering of what a 1965 Corvair would look like with the Stingray’s 495-horsepower LT2 engine and dual-clutch transmission stuffed behind the passengers.

As the son of a Corvette owner, I have great respect for those dads who team up with their sons (or daughters) to do a restoration project on a Corvette. This video about a 1968 Corvette is one such story. Now that the restoration is complete, the memories of the project will forever live on.

We first featured this heavily-modified C5 Z06 Corvette back in June when we caught it at the Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds at Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island, Florida. That video featured the Corvette running a standing half-mile with 172 mph being its top speed. Now the Corvette is back and this time it makes a run at the standing mile.

The driver of a black C5 Corvette convertible is recovering from a gunshot wound after a robbery in a discount grocery store parking lot in California this week.
Stockton Police say the 19-year-old driver was in the Corvette at the Food-4-Less parking lot when an armed robber with a gun walked up and demanded property, then wound up shooting the driver once before leaving in a vehicle waiting nearby.
