Supervettes SV7 Wide Body Kit Teased for Corvette Stingray

Supervettes SV7 Wide Body Kit Teased for Corvette Stingray

If you’re not satisfied with the looks and performance of the standard Corvette Stingray and the upcoming Z06 model, then SuperVettes might be the place for you to visit with your C7.

The Florida-based Corvette specialist currently offers wide body and performance upgrade kits for all C6 models, including the coupe, convertible, Z06, Grand Sport, and ZR1, and hoods, spoilers, and body kits for C5s.

We knew it was just a matter of time before SuperVettes laid its special touch on the new Stingray, and they just announced that they are indeed working on a wide body kit that they claim will blow the recently launched Z06 out of the water.

They’re also teaming up with MadVette Motorsports to give the car even more power than the Z06’s 625 horses.

The company hasn’t released many details about the new model, which they’re calling the SV7, but we do know that just about the entire body will be modified, including massively flared front wings, widened rear arches, a new sport hood, new roof, and new bumpers.

“Our dealers are the best at what they do, and we are excited to be releasing the best wide body kit for the C7 Corvette,” SuperVettes says. “The kit will rival the looks of the new Corvette Z06, and of course, you can increase the base HP of the C7 Stingray to well beyond the standard specs of the new Z06.”

The renderings offer a preview of what SuperVettes has in mind for the Stingray.

Forgiato Widebody C7 Corvette Stingrays Now Available in Multiple Flavors

We’ve talked about the Forgiato Widebody C7 Corvette Stingrays before because frankly, we think they’re cool. And while some other auto sites and Corvette traditionalists continue to bash these cars, we hold them up as great examples of the what can be done with a base Corvette Stingray when you have time, money and a vision.

The Forgiato Corvette widebodies burst onto the automotive stage just before last year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas. Having received their initial Corvette Stingray from our friends at Purifoy Chevrolet in Ft. Lupton, CO, the Corvette was modified in just a few weeks by the car designer Topo (aka The Widebody King) at TS Designs.

The custom Corvette widebody was a hit with the SEMA folks were it attracted some of the largest crowds each day. The SEMA judges were also taken and gave the car their 2013 SEMA Design Award for “Best Chevrolet Exterior”.

When we last talked about the Forgiato widebodies, it was because we had learned that they were making a special five unit run consisting of three coupes and two convertibles. They are using eBay to sell the cars and we’ve seen the listings for the Coupes set at $165,000. However, at the time, we only had photos of two coupes, both wearing that distinctive “Aston Martin Blue” paint scheme.

Now it appears that the special run of five vehicles is nearing completion as Forgiato is showing off a group of three widebody Stingrays which include the two Convertibles and one Coupe.

The twist though is that instead of every single widebody Corvette going with the original “Aston Martin Blue”, we see one of the coupes done in Tangelo Orange while a convertible is wearing a very red Red. (yes I meant to say it twice). The second convertible is available in the original AM Blue paint scheme.

Here’s the latest photos from Forgiato:

Doing some digging, we found an active ebay ad for the Forgiato Corvette widebody Stingrays.

The auction runs for the next 20 days and ends on April 21st. We have seen previous ebay ads on these cars before so it’s no surprise that Forgiato is going with a longer ad run, especially when the pricing on these custom stingrays runs $165K. Questions on the sale of these cool Corvettes can be directed to nc@forgiato.com.

If the new Corvette Stingray isn’t quite distinctive enough for you, then you might want to check out the eBay auction going on right now for a Forgiato Widebody C7 Corvette Stingray, one of which was on display at SEMA in November.

We found a video today at www.forgiato.com that shows two of the distinctive “Aston Martin Blue” Forgiato Stingrays weaving their way down a city street. We’re not sure if the car for sale now is one of those or not.

Regardless, for the “Buy It Now” price of just $165,000, you can own a Forgiato Widebody that was stretched both front and rear by the Wide Body King Topo from TS Designs and is riding on Pirelli tires atop 21-inch front and 22-inch rear Forgiato Maglia-ECL Cut Spoke Wheels that feature baby blue rims (to match the car’s exterior panels) and black spokes.

While the design and color are definitely a “love it or hate it” personal decision, the Forgiato was constantly surrounded by a big crowd at SEMA. In fact, sitting on top of the car was the 2013 SEMA Design Award for “Best New Chevrolet Exterior.”

Besides the wider body, the Corvette’s rear splitter was redone in carbon fiber as was the trim around the rear lights. Also, LED accent lights were fitted to the headlights, along with a new front splitter and Forgiato’s special Corvette grille.

According to the eBay posting, Forgiato is working on five of these cars, three coupes and two convertibles featuring 2LT and 3LT trim levels, all with automatic transmissions with paddle shift.
They also point out that you can send your own Stingray to them for the mods or tell them what you want and they will buy the car and do the mods.

Forgiato says the mods are not an add-on kit but instead a modification to the skin of the car. Mechanical parts of the car are not altered in any way, leaving the GM warranty intact. You can get more information by e-mailing nc@forgiato.com.

As of this morning, Feb. 13, no bids had been placed on the car, but there were 156 watchers. We’ll keep you posted on the outcome.

You either love it or hate it. That’s the consensus we’ve come to as there doesn’t seem to be much in-between when it comes to the Forgiato Widebody C7 Corvette Stingray shown at SEMA last week.

We admit that “Aston Martin Blue” exterior color is a little tough for us to go for too, but those curves are so cool! It’s a car that’s totally at home in the SEMA Dub Show and to see it live is to appreciate the look and the workmanship that went into the build. But I couldn’t imagine this as a daily driver.

The Corvette Stingray was widened by the Wide Body King Topo from TS Designs. It’s an amazing amount of work that had to have happened in such a compressed time period. Not only was the rear widened, but so was the front too. The Corvette’s rear splitter was redone in carbon fiber and the trim around the rear lights was all done in carbon fiber as well.

We learned about this Corvette from Forgiato so its only appropriate we talk about the wheels. This Corvette Stingray widebody is sitting on 21 inch front and 22 inch rear Forgiato Maglia-ECL Cut Spoke Wheels. Like the Stingray, the wheels are done in Black with an Aston Martin blue gloss finish.

When we found the Corvette Stingray on display outdoors in the Dub Show area, a large crowd was continually surrounding the car. Sitting on top of the Blue Corvette Stingray was the 2013 SEMA Design Award for “Best New Chevrolet Exterior.”

We overheard that the Corvette was already sold to a buyer in the Middle East who had a matching Aston Martin. So while we may never catch the Forgiato Widebody C7 Corvette in the flesh again, it will difinately be remembered.

Forgiato Wheels Building Widebody C7 Corvette Stingray for SEMA

Forgiato Wheels has recently shown off a rendering of a widebody C7 Corvette Stingray that the company is building for the SEMA show next month in Las Vegas. The Corvette is being modified by Topo aka the self-proclaimed widebody king. The render shows what the finished Corvette will look like when finished but we also found some pics showing the transformation in progress.

Forgiato first announced the project in September on their blog but details of the finished car and what wheels and sizes will be mounted on the widebody C7 are still to come. We do see that Corvette that is being modified is a Blade Silver Z51 Coupe.

Click here to see a larger version of the Widebody C7 Rendering from Forgiato.

The rendering also shows the Corvette will be outfitted with a carbon fiber splitter and rocker panels and the spoiler looks to be exaggerated as well.
