Corvette Racing: C6.R's Subjected to IMSA Performance Adjustments

The American Le Mans Series has announced their performance adjustments for the GT class ahead of next weekend’s race at Long Beach. The Corvette C6.Rs started the season with IMSA mandating a minimum weight of 1270 kg. That requirement added 25 kg to the Corvettes which equals roughly 60 pounds. IMSA has stated that the Pratt and Miller Corvettes will run with the extra weight until completion of Round 3 at Laguna Seca in May. [More]

We got an update on the Dragon Vette that confirms what we wrote about in our original post – the world’s worst custom Corvette is now rocking a supercharger that should boost his horsepower from the standard 436 hp to around 600 hp. According to a member over at LS1Tech.com, the Dragon Vette was spotted at a local dealership getting the centrifugal supercharger installed and most surprising is that under the hood, all appears to be stock and unmolested. For Pete, his 505 horsepower Corvette Z06 was the inspiration for a song that was recently posted on YouTube. Remember that Chevy billboard that says “They don’t write songs about Volvos”? I guess its because Volvo doesn’t have owners like Pete who wants to sing to the world about his “freakin fast” Z06.
