Every once in a while, I go through the stage of wanting another C4 Corvette. Having owned an ’86, an ’88, and an ’89, I realize firsthand these fourth generation ‘Vettes aren’t the most powerful ever built or the most reliable (remember the newfangled key on the ’86 that was supposed to prevent thefts but wound up leaving some owners stranded because the key wouldn’t work?).

The C5 Corvette is getting enough age on it that resourceful owners are coming up with all sorts of creative uses for these now low-priced sports cars.
Last week, for instance, we showed you a “shorty” fifth-generation Corvette that had been chopped at the rear and reassembled to look like a Miata/Beetle mishmash of parts.

What would happen if a C5 Corvette, a Miata, and a Volkswagen got together – let’s say this as delicately as possible – in an inappropriate way?
This silver creation recently posted on Reddit by thememelord_23 could be the result!
While some people have complained for years about the big rear end on the C5, we think replacing it with a smaller version reminiscent of a Beetle or a Plymouth Prowler might not necessarily be the right way to go.

Some enthusiasts have never purchased a C5 Z06 because it left the Bowling Green assembly plant only as a fixed-roof coupe.
No convertibles or removable roof panels for the fifth-generation Z06 were offered by General Motors.
But now an actual 2002 Z06 (confirmed by the VIN, according to the sellers) has been converted into a convertible and is up for sale on eBay at the reasonable “Buy It Now” price of $21,995.

We always like to think about Corvettes as a canvas that can be customized by their owners into the rolling pieces of artwork. And while a successful customization is always in the eye of the beholder, we love to see the creativity that Corvette owners work on their rides.
We are new to the videos from this youtuber, but we do love the new matte red wrap that he put over an Arctic White 2020 Corvette Stingray.

We spent years hunting down pictures of camouflaged mid-engine Corvettes, trying to determine even the smallest tidbits about what lied underneath GM’s proprietary black and white patchwork. Customers have only just begun taking delivery of their new, fully-uncovered eighth-generation Corvettes but one owner has already made us a bit sentimental by taking their new baby to be draped in a new form of camo.

You can expect the aftermarket to have a field day with the forthcoming C8.
In fact, TJ Hunt of StreetHunter USA just revealed renderings of their widebody kit for the 2020 Stingray, and we have to say it looks super aggressive and cool!
Even though the first paying customer doesn’t even have a stock C8 in their garage, we’re sure you’re asking, how soon will this kit be available?
It may go against the purist tradition, but we’ve always felt that the ’53-’55 Corvettes look so much sportier without the factory hubcaps.
Case in point: this 1954 custom convertible that will go on the block at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale later this week.
Being offered at no reserve, the sellers created the car as a tribute to the GM Concept Corvette displayed as one of the “Dream Cars” in the 1954 GM Motorama.
If you’re a Corvette enthusiast who has always wanted a Viper, too, boy, have we got just the car for you!
According to an Instagram post by 1320video, some enterprising individual has taken the inner workings of a C4 Corvette, including the gee-whiz, space-age instrument panel, and surrounded it with the yellow body of a first-generation Viper.
