The National Corvette Museum recently announced their partnership with American Modern Insurance Group to provide collector car insurance to its members and car enthusiasts. Instead of just referring people to American Modern, the Museum took it one step further by opening an in-house insurance agency to provide the service. The future of the Chevrolet Corvette is secure, General Motors CEO Fritz Henderson says, even as GM dramatically slashes its size and costs.

Rumor has sprung. A Corvette body-style switchover will be made at the GT2 class in the American Le Mans (ALMS). The new body of the Corvette C6.R GT2 will offer more of a resemblance to that of the Corvette ZR1.

Competition for Chevrolet remains fierce among the Porsches, Dodge Vipers, Ford GTs, and BMW M3s. There are high hopes that the new ZR1 body-style may be just the appropriate means to dominate the competition.

Take a look at the photo. You will notice a modified front grille, new bottom diffusers, and a larger spoiler off the back. The current 6.0-liter LS7 engine will soon be replaced in 2010 by a 5.5-liter LS3 engine producing up to 500 horsepower!
