[VIDEO] Brushing a 2014 Corvette Stingray Model – ASMR

Via CorvetteVideos.TV

Tonight I found a whole new genre of videos tagged with “ASMR” which is short for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. According to Wikipedia these videos are designed to “trigger a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli”.

Here’s the Corvette video that was tagged ASMR – Nearly 10 minutes of a guy brushing a model C7 while you hear night noises in the background. I will say that it very relaxing to watch so there may be something to this.

Relax with a bit of brushing as I show my new 1/18 scale diecast model from Maisto, the 2014 Corvette C7. I really like the styling of this car, all the lines and everything look really cool. I also found it in a great dark red paint. Hope you don’t mind the noise outside, the critters were definitely singing and I needed to keep the back door open.

[VIDEO] C6 Corvette Suffers a Nitrous Explosion at the Texas Mile

[VIDEO] C6 Corvette Suffers Nitrous Explosion at the Texas Mile

Here was a scary incident at fall 2013 running of the Texas Mile. Buddy Schulz is the owner/driver of this C6 Corvette and earlier in the day he had posted runs nearly 180 mph. But it was his last run of the day that makes the news.

Schulz’s Corvette was powered by a 416 ci LS3 with a 2-stage nitrous system. It appears that a missed shift sent the RPMs through the roof and the engine blew which engulfed the Corvette in flames. Schulz stopped the Corvette and the flames were already starting to get inside by the time he unbuckled and scrambled out the car.

The whole incident was captured on an on-board camera while another camera followed the car down the track from the sidelines.

The trackside emergency crews were on the scene a few seconds later and we watched as they work to put out the persistent flames.

The good news to come from this is that the driver escaped without injury and we are told that he already making plans for the car’s next engine.

[VIDEO] Classic 1969 Corvette Back on the Road After Being Flooded by Superstorm Sandy

[VIDEO] Classic 1969 Corvette Back on the Road after Superstorm Sandy

When Superstorm Sandy walloped the East Coast last October, the damage was widespread to homes, businesses, and boardwalks.

That damage also included lots of beautiful collector cars.

Fortunately, however, what can be destroyed can many times be restored to its previous glory.

With the one-year anniversary of the storm approaching (Oct. 28), the Web TV series American Detours, which pairs epic American roads with beautiful classic cars, decided to focus on firsthand stories of such resilient Jersey Shore collector car owners.

That includes the owner of a 1969 Corvette that was completely ruined after it was submerged in several feet of seawater.

In the episode, the owner is featured talking about how he tried to save the car first from a few inches of water in his garage, then realized his efforts were futile as the water continued to climb, eventually damaging the transmission, interior, suspension, and many other parts of the car.

Fortunately, the car was insured with Agreed Value coverage through American Collectors Insurance, and the owner decided to purchase the salvage back after the claim was paid.

He then set out to restore the car starting in January and says he was done with the restoration by May – not a bad turnaround for a total loss vehicle.

Hosts of the show, Jael de Pardo (SyFy Network) and Jeff Glucker (Hooniverse.com), were even allowed by the owner to take his beautiful green over tan Corvette onto the open road, talking cars and cruising to Jersey Shore landmarks along the way.

According to the show, more than 40 percent of American Collectors Insurance’s claimants from Superstorm Sandy decided to buy back the salvaged remains of their totaled vehicles and are in the process of restoring them the way they were before the storm.

Actually, this 1969 Corvette is even better than before in the eyes of the owner, who decided to switch to a five-speed transmission (from the old four-speed) that cruises at 1500 RPM instead of 3000 and allows him to carry on conversations and listen to the radio.

Sometimes, there is a silver lining to that dark cloud.

[VIDEO] “Ungrateful Girlfriend” Gets a Web Redemption in her C7 Corvette Stingray

Remember Ungrateful Girlfriend? She was the recipient of a new 2014 Corvette Stingray earlier this month and the video of her receiving the keys from her boyfriend made the rounds due to her less than enthusiastic emotional response. We understand now that she knew it was coming so hopefully she didn’t mind the good-natured fun we had at her expense in our original post.

We’ll she’s back and more enthusiastic than ever in this new video where we see her driving her Black 2014 Corvette Stingray.

We’ve come to find out her name is Pattie. Her boyfriend who gave her the car posts under the name of RekjavicXXX on Corvette Forum. He said in a recent post that “she’s absolutely in love with the car and takes ridiculously good care of it.”

Here’s Pattie in her new 2014 Corvette Stingray:

So kudos to Pattie for being a good sport and showing how good that Corvette Stingray looks with a girl behind the wheel. Here are the two professional photos shown at the end of the video:

[VIDEO] Reverse Test Drive Monitors Driver Biometrics while Testing the C7 Corvette Stingray

[VIDEO] Reverse Test Drive Monitors Driver' Biometrics while Testing the C7 Corvette Stingray

As a longtime Corvette driver, we know that we are happier when we are behind the wheel of America’s favorite sports car. Having the experience of spending the day driving the C7 Corvette Stingray put a smile on our face and bounce in our step for the rest of the week, but we never really quite understood why driving the new Corvette changed us physically until we saw this Reverse Test Drive video from Chevrolet.

Chevrolet brought in five people with very different backgrounds to Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch to test drive the 2014 Corvette Stingray. What’s different about this test drive is that the individuals were hooked up to sensors attached to their bodies to record biometric data during the test. Heart rate, breathing and brain activity were all monitored as they each raced around the track.

The “influencers” who took part of the study included Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of the Gran Turismo franchise, an online fitness blogger named Kelly Olexa and Phillip Cooley, a Detroit restaurant owner.

Here are the videos from the Reverse Test Drive but you’ll probably want to wander over to the official Corvette Vimeo Channel to take in the interactive experience from the drive.

Kazunori Yamauchi, Producer of #GranTurismo, knows the 2014 Corvette Stingray is mind-blowing, but do his brain waves agree? Find out as he takes a Stingray for a Reverse Test Drive while we monitor all of his vital activity.
