J-44748 is used with J-23907-1 Slide Hammer to remove the input shaft seal from the DCT transmission when seal replacement is needed. J-44748 must be used because the seal installs into the front cover and onto the input shaft at the same time, and has no gap like there would be on a transmission with a torque convertor. J-44748 fits between the lip of the seal and the input shaft without damaging the input shaft.

Unapproved removal methods may damage the input shaft.
