Hand crafted from 16 ga. steel, "show quality" triple chrome plated for an award winning look. This piece easliy slips over your existing fuse box and is held in place with Velcro strips for easy removal if you need to access your fuses. The "on car" picture shows our optional customer installed Stingray Emblem, Item 70188. Installation time for the cover is under 3 minutes. Fits 2014-2015
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Clean the top of your fuse box with denatured alcohol to remove any previously applied silicone products or road grime that will prevent the Velcro from adhereing properly.
2. Slide the Chrome Fuse Box Cover over your fuse box until it is down as far as it will go. When you are satisfied with the way it looks and fits, remove the Chrome Cover.
3. Peel the protective film from the attached Velcro ( DO NOT SEPERATE THE VELCRO HALVES) and slide the Chrome Cover over your fuse box as before. Press firmly on the area of the Velcro to make sure it adheres to your fuse box. Do not remove cover for 24 hours to give the Velcro adhesive time to cure.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
DISCONECT BATTERY BEFORE BEGINNING
1.Loosen top alternator mounting bolt using a 15 mm wrench far enough for the slotted bracket on the Chrome Alternator Cover to slide between the alternator and bolt head.
2.Align the Chrome Alternator Cover by sliding the slotted bracket onto the loosened top alternator bolt. Do not tighten alternator bolt at this time and do not remove the protective film from the Velcro. Lower the Chrome Alternator Cover until it contacts the alternator. MARK THIS CONTACT POINT ON THE ALTERNATOR where the attached velcro on the cover BEGINS AND ENDS. This should be approximately 3 1/2 inches down from the area of the alternator where the top alternator bolt passes through the alternator and 1/4 inch from the bottom of the Chrome Cover. Make sure this area of the alternator is free of all grease or grime by throughly cleaning with denatured achohol.
3. Remove the Chrome Cover. Seperate the two half's of the Velcro attached to the Chrome Cover being careful not to pull away the bottom half that is adhered to the Chrome Cover. Peel the protective film from the half of the Velcro that you just removed. Position the sticky side of the Velcro between the marks that you placed on the alternator centering the Velcro over the recessed black center band. Press the Velcro firmly onto the alternator especially into the recessed black band.
4. Reinstall the Chrome Cover as in #2 and press the Chrome Cover firmly against the alternator to secure the Velcro. Securely tighten the top alternator bolt. After driving your car until it is at operating temperture, loosen the top alternator bolt and firmly press the Chrome Cover against the alternator to further adhere the Velcro to the alternator. Retighten top alternator bolt.
CAUTION !!!!!
UNDER NO CIRUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU ALLOW THE CHROME ALTERNATOR COVER TO CONTACT THE POSITIVE ELECTRICAL POST ON THE ALTERNATOR. SEVERE DAMAGE COULD OCCUR TO YOUR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. IT IS THE OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO INSURE CORRECT INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE TO PREVENT THE CHROME ALTERNATOR COVER FROM CONTACTING THIS POST !!! |
